100% Pre-Oxidized Fire Retardant Fabric – Flame Spread, Heat, Thermal Resistant
Taiwan K.K. Corp. is a fire fighting clothing and fabric manufacturer with over 20 years of experience. Their newly developed fabric- MAZIC® and KANOX® - are outperformed NOMEX and KANOX ADVANCE performed the best protection in this manikin test.
Regardless of the combination of fire retardant fabric is used, fire retardant clothing must go through a list of tests to meet the standard set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), which means that every fire retardant clothing has to pass the standard for protection against chemical, heat, flame, acid, etc. Considering adopting this test method as part of the requirements, manufacturers will need their fire retardant clothing complying with the NFPA standard.
PREMIUM (TK09AD01 ADVANCE) series fire resistant clothing is made of four layers including outer shell, moisture barrier, thermal barrier and lining. There are many different combinations of fire retardant fabrics used; reinforcements and reflective trim are attached to the outer shell. PREMIUM (TK09AD01 ADVANCE) series firefighting clothing is EN 469:2005 certified and meets European and North American standards. It is designed and manufactured with high quality fire retardant fabric and every layer is fireproof.
European and North American standard specify performance for the fire retardant clothing to be put on while firefighting or rescue. Especially when the rescue work is related to events such as an accidental splash of chemical or flammable liquids. Also avoid contamination from blood- borne pathogens.
AD02RP fire fighting clothing is a heavy-duty flame retardant uniform. It is manufactured to protect a firefighter’s body while working and keep firefighters to move freely. When pathogen contamination is possible, fire retardant fabric is required to be internationally certified.
Outer-shell fire retardant fabric is the first and most important layer of defense in protecting life. KANOX® fire retardant fabric is made from an exclusive blend that in effect "starves the fire" in addition to providing excellent traditional protection against fire. This different approach is proven and is by no means experimental. KANOX® fire retardant fabric borrows from a knowledge base developed in other industries that have even more significant fire resistance requirements.
KANOX® fire retardant fabric will not burn, melt, soften or drip! It is NFPA 1971-2000 approved/compliant (certified) with excellent results in all required tests as well as a number of other widely-accepted industrial tests. By many measures, it is the most protective fire retardant fabric.
In material science, the strength of a fire retardant fabric is a measure of an applied force to protect people. KANOX® K-AD02RP has great tensile strength and it is tested using ENISO 13934-1:1999 method. Based on EN 469:2005's ≥ 450N performance requirement, K-AD02RP's ≥ 3000N tensile strength result is much higher. Likewise, its tear strength is ≥ 150N, which is better than ENISO 13937-2:2000's standard ≥25N.
K-AD02RP is a fire resistant fabric for outer shell of fire fighting clothing, and is EN469:2005 certified. It is available in various colors (dark blue, yellow and orange); and weights 240 g/m² with rip-stop structure.
Fire fighting suits are recommended to be made of the following high performance fabrics:
code name | colour | structure | |
---|---|---|---|
K-AD02RP (Outer shell) | Dark blue, Yellow, Orange | Rip-stop | |
K-Gornox (Thermal barrier) | Yellow | Non-woven | |
M-ST02 (Inner liner) | Grey | Plain | |
M-FM02K (Knit wristlet) | Dark blue | Circular knit | |

The moisture barrier is the second layer of the fire retardant clothing, composed mostly of a layer laminated to a fabric substrate. Moisture fire retardant material allows sweating and supplies fluid penetration resistance against blood and body fluids, common chemicals, and water, helping the firefighter stays dry and protected.
PREMIUM (TK09AD01) series moisture barrier material is ASTM F1671 certified. It meets required standards from European and North America countries.

K-GORNOX is the 3rd layer of fire retardant clothing which requires fire retardant fabric to be light, thin, and heat resistant. It is a non-woven fabric that is a fabric-like material made from long fibers, bonded together by chemical, mechanical, heat or solvent treatment.
K-GORNOX is a high quality fire retardant fabric with great thermal protection performance. It has higher thermal protection performance (TPP) than NOMEX® IIIa and PBI.
Fire retardant fabric linings are recommended for many projects and for a variety of reasons. When manufacturing fire retardant clothing, the lining is added for a measure of comfort especially for heavier and bulky apparels. Linings in the fire retardant clothing help these kinds of garments move with the body and make pulling on and off easier.
Aramid fire retardant fabric is extremely durable and stable, and suitable for fire retardant clothing. This fire retardant fabric weights 150g/m² and comes with dark blue.
AD02RP Series Fire Retardant Clothing was tested and certified to conform to EN 469:2005 by the notified by BTTG (British Textile Technology Group). Except for its high performance in flame retardant and thermal insulation, the moisture barrier also outperforms in anti-virus penetration. The fire retardant clothing applies NFPA 1971 certified moisture barrier, and was tested by Underwriters Laboratories that it’s competence of preventing hidden blood-borne pathogen danger to human body during various firefighting and rescue activities. Test method to fire retardant material against penetration of such virus danger is specified in ASTM D 1671. Detailed fire retardant fabric testing method and determination are analyzed in this article. [view article »]
